You Don’t Have Everything Figured Out

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that it’s almost impossible to have everything figured out before making a life-changing decision.
Whether you’re moving to a new country, changing careers, or simply starting a new chapter, you can prepare as much as possible—but there will always be things you can only learn by living through them.
Before moving to Canada, my lawyer gave me advice that helped me understand what to expect. It gave me confidence and a picture of what my new life might look like. But once I arrived, I quickly realized that reality is always different from what we imagine.
There were still countless questions to answer. I searched online, asked local people for advice, and learned through trial and error. Some days were frustrating, and I definitely made mistakes. Looking back, those mistakes became some of my greatest teachers.
If I could tell my younger self one thing, it would be this:
You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin.
Take one day at a time.
Be curious enough to ask questions.
Allow yourself to make mistakes.
Most importantly, be kind to yourself.
I still find it difficult not to think too far ahead. I naturally worry about the future and like to have a plan for everything. But life has taught me that some of the most beautiful chapters cannot be planned—they unfold one step at a time.
So today, over coffee, I want to leave you with this thought:
You don’t have to know exactly where the road will lead to take the first step. Sometimes, the courage to begin is enough.
What is one decision in your life that felt scary at first but turned out to be worth it?
I’d love to hear your story.
Until next time…
See you Over Coffee. ☕🤍
